What I like most about the new ‘hybrid’ workplace
This new Hybrid workplace model allows me to have face to face interaction with my co-workers and to collaborate as necessary but also gives me more of a work-life balance in the sense that I am able to use the time saved when not commuting to be more productive and get more work done and in turn spend more time with my family.
How hard do you work on your professional education and development?
I am always looking for ways to improve and grow professionally. I search for taking advantage of all the internal opportunities at work to attend workshops and training sessions, I also proactively speak to my Manager about looking for these opportunities and asking him to recommend any trainings or referring me in areas he thinks will enhance my professional career.
What is the most difficult part of being an assistant and how to overcome it?
The most difficult part of being an assistant is making sure your accomplishments are noticed. Most of our job is done behind the scenes so it can be easy to get lost in the fray. What I try to do is ensure that when I work on tasks that can impact or showcase my performance development, I get the buy-in from the Project Manager who will then acknowledge my role in the project and the part I played in executing. When appropriate I will ensure my senior leaders are copied on some of the correspondence, which keeps them in the loop and aware of the part I played in achieving these outcomes.
